WEEK 4 - WEEK 6
DIGITAL FASHION
Week 4
Today, ms taught us how to use Adobe Illustrator to make our Digital Fashion Moodboard and draw Fashion Illustration. First, we prepared some BW model face portraits so we can sketch it for the face figure. In the beginning, it was really hard to operate as it was the first time I worked with AI. But slowly, I started getting used to it.

I use the same pictures used for assignment 1 because I’m going to illustrate the same 10 designs from assignment 1. The reason why I choose to use back the old designs because I want to focus more on the skill. Although I’m using the same pictures, I try to explore different ways to play with these pictures with different arrangements.

FACE
Ms taught us how to draw a front face figure so we can combine it with the body later. It was not that easy at the first time because the tools are not smooth to control. I kept on redoing when I was not satisfied with it and here's the final result. Ms asked us to finish it by this week because we are going to learn how to apply colours for the face.

Week 5
Today, we learnt how to apply colour for the face figure, sketch the hair and also the full body.
For the face, we find the colour tone that we like and try it on the face. Actually we can just find a picuture with different colour tones of skin and eye drops it instead of trying every colours one by one.

HAIR
I decided to draw a bun to match up with my designs in the previous assignment. For the hair colour, I used 2 tones of colours so it looks like highlight and has the cool, rock style.

I moved the face and hair to a different page so I can use them as template with different colours in the future.

So far I think body is the easiest part to draw because Ms Maria taught us how to draw 9 heads figure so I have the skill to draw a body. And we have a picture to sketch it out so it may be easier.
For this assignment I'm going to draw my previous designs in digital version because I want to focus on the skill and technique of how to use a design software.
These are the previous designs in Assignment 1, I will be transferring them into digital format in this Assignment 2.

Week 6
In this week, I finish all the 10 digital design illustration using Adobe Illustrator. At first, it was really hard for me to operate because my previous designs have a lot of details to draw out. But, I tried my best to make them look exactly the same. Although it was not easy, but I think it is necessary to master this skill because we surely need to use it in the future.
I sketched out all the designs first only apply all the colours.

FEEDBACK FROM LECTURER
In week 6, we had a feedback section with Ms Maria. Ms said my process is quite well and everything is going alright. Ms gave me some suggestion to adjust the designs so the armhole can fit nicely. Also, she said my picture in the blog can be bigger and I agreed with Ms because I never noticed this before. So I resize my pictures in this blog so people can see it easily.
FINAL DESIGN OUTCOME
MOODBOARD
I used the design from assignment 1 so my moodpboard concept is the same. But I changed the template and the way I place them because I wanted to develop more ways of creating a moodpboard. But I will still explain my design concept again.
For this collection, it is about Rock N' Roll. It is designed for ladies who are in love with Rock band, music festival and something that is cool and chic. These designs are for them to attend concerts, parties or festivals so it needs to be eye-catching and voguish.
I focused the colour on pink, gold, black and white so it won't be messy but won't be boring as well.
10 DIGITAL DESIGN ILLUSTRATION
The reason why I use my previous designs is because I wanted to create something that is designed by me but making a new collection may be too challenging for me because this is my first time using Adobe Illustrator to draw something so I wanted to focus well on the skill and technique. After finishing the designs, I exported them to Adobe Photoshop to rearrange them and save the pictures in a clearer version.
REFLECTION
For the first time using Adobe Illustrator to draw 10 figures is totally not easy for me because I'm not familiar with the skills and it is really hard to control. But I try my best and take my time to make sure everything is fine. After I have done all my designs, I think I'm more familiar with Adobe Design Software which is a good reward for me.
One of the lessons I learnt in this assignment is never thought you have times because we never know what problems may comes out. During the process of working on this assignment, my laptop is kind of lag for a few times especially when I was recording the screen so it really triggered me but I calmed myself and try to think positive.
When I was doing the works, I told myself to do it with passion because this is what I always love and these are my designs so I will be really happy when I'm done. And ya, at this moment I'm really satisfied and happy because these are my passions and they just like my "children". I think this is why arts, designs are always loved by humans because people always do them with love and soul.
