PROJECT 1 : FASHION 4 CHANGE

Project Brief :

On the first day of semester 2, Ms Maria, Mr Andrew Tan and programme lecturers hold a visit to  Life-line Clothing Warehouse for us to collected materials for this project.

Instructions:

1. Measure the length and width that you want for a bottle holder.

2. Use circumference to calculate the bottom diameter for the bottle holder. 

3. Create patterns (one circle and one rectangle) on mahjong paper.

4. Pin patterns on actual fabric.

5. Add 1cm seam allowance for every pieces of pattern.

6. Use chalker to do marking on actual fabric.

7. Cut your fabric. 

8. Use pin to place everything nicely.

9. Sew them together. 

The width for my bottle holder is 40cm, the length for my bottle holder is 25cm.

Description：

This is a bottle holder with sling which allows the user to put their bottle in it because water is what everyone needs every day. They can bring it to vacation so their hands won’t be too full or busy to hold stuff. Also, there are 2 pockets for user to put anything they want to bring by their side, for example mobile phone, tissues, masks and more. The materials used to make this bottle holder is corduroy so it is durable and washable. They were collected from Life Line Clothing Warehouse Malaysia. The topic for this project is Fashion 4 Change and the aim is to upcycle the materials and make a simple day to day products that everyone can use.
