ASSIGNMENT 1: SHIRT BLOCK MAKING (MODARIS)

WEEK 1 - WEEK 4


Week 1:

File > New: create 

Access Path - File

Note: alpha & numeric file (have to * the size we want to make, example: S *M L XL) 

Imp. EVT > tap on the people > choose alpha/numeric

New Sheet for a different block

Keyboard 7 to view a particular block

Keyboard 8 to view all block

Parameters > CM

Icon/Text - Config. 

Line - F1

Add point - F1

Relative point - F1

Parellel - F1 

Division - F1

Arc Arrow - F3: draw curve line with Q/W

Notch - F2

Delection - F3


Week  2:

Notch - F2

Length measurement - F8

Stretch - F3: to move line without effecting the length measurement

Display > hide measurement

Piece > Seam - F4: to select pattern

Marking - F2: to keep dartline when selecting seam

Line Seam - F4: just tap on the line to add seam allowance

Seam Allowance

Front and Back Bodice

Neckline : 0.5cm

Shoulder Line : 1cm

Armhole : 1cm

Side seam : 2cm

Button stand : 3.5cm (2.5cm+1cm)

Bottom : 3-5cm

Collar : 0.5cm

Sym 2Pts - F5 : for something like center front and back, to copy and paste the same thing to make it a whole piece  (for back bodice, sleeve, yoke, collars)

Cut 2Pts - F5 : can cut pattern to 2 pieces

Marry - F8 : to combine 2 pieces (the front and back yoke) into one pattern piece

Rotate marriages - F8 : to rotate pieces (yoke) so they can combine nicely 

Divorce - F8 : to separate the pieces 


Week 3: 

Display > Title Box: to see sizes and title (only do size 8, 10, 12, 14, 16)

Grading > Control - F6: click on the point to insert grading 

Equate - F6 : to copy and paste 

Grading:

Neckline : 0.5

Shoulder : 0

Armhole : 0.25

Bustline : 1, - 0.4

Bottom line: 0, - 0.4

Add size table - F7 > Imp. EVT

Week 4:

Charts Manager - F8: to create Size Chart 

Length Measurement - F8

Measurement:

Neck size

Armhole

Shoulder length

Sleeve length

Shirt length

*Make sure to measure the patterns that have the gradings

Example: Armhole 1 + Armhole 2 > create to get the total

Once done: choose *PRINT* *MICROSOFT PRINT TO PDF* *OK*

Label all final pattern (with seam allowance) with name - choose edit

Example:

Root: Basic Shirt 

Name: Front 

ref: Julia 

Comment: cut 2 (how many pieces)

Pieces:

Front Bodice - 2 - S (single): 0 DH (double): 1 DV: 0

Back Bodice - 1- S (single): 1 DH (double): 0 DV: 0

Yoke - 1 - S (single): 1 DH (double): 0 DV: 0

Sleeve - 2 - S (single): 0 DH (double): 1 DV: 0

Stand Collar - 2 - S (single): 0 DH (double): 1 DV: 0

Fall Collar - 2 - S (single): 0 DH (double): 1 DV: 0

Cuff - 4 - S (single): 0 DH (double): 2 DV: 0


Varient - F8 *name have to be same as Modaris File name

Create Pce Article - F8: select final pattern to compile (with seam allowance)

After done, just press X 

Add grain line - F4 > Axis
